Son of James and Norah Mayhew of Great Glemham.

Percy enlisted in Framlingham, Suffolk. He joined the 8th Batt. The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) where he was registered as private 14832. Percy was in the 72nd Brigade division and the 24th Division of the Army-Corps.

He was formally of 775224 of the R. W. Kent Regiment and is also listed on the Great Glemham war memorial.

Died of wounds 17/05/1917. Age 19.

Buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery which was loacated next to a major casualty clearing station near Ypres.
